240/366: Clowns

Over the summer, I went to a church rummage sale and picked up a Pin the Tail on the Donkey and Two other Games game.  I didn't even open it, looked at the box and new I liked it.

The condition was questionable, but again, the box sold me.

And when I opened it up...this was one of the other two games.  All the tails and noses were cut out and the tails still had real pins in some of them.

I know!  Real pins for kids!  My kids surely are sheltered, we use tape.

I never really liked clowns.  I always imagined a very sad person under all that makeup.  Not sure why, they are funny little critters, but I guess I thought they had to put the make up on to hide who they really were.

Regardless of the happiness on the inside, I still think clowns are creepy.

233/366: Days of the Week

I thought today was Sunday.

I'm getting all mixed up.  I need to wear my Timex watch again, just to see the day of the week.

On Saturday, I took a whole bunch of photos of some new vintage items for the Etsy shop.  It was fun to get back in the swing of things.  Hopefully I can list a couple new things today.

Have a great Sunday!  I mean, Monday!  Right?  Monday, yes, Monday.

Meet Anemone

My latest purse that sat for much too long awaiting a zipper.

Might I add, it could possibly be the best zipper installation for me, ever!

You can see other photos here.

Spoonbenderarts

Join me in welcoming Spoonbenderarts to the wild world of ETSY!

This picture above is the Forkament, available here.  You can hang it from a hook on your window, or on your Christmas tree...it's not just for Christmas anymore.

Anne has lots of interesting items, all really wonderful hostess gifts.  She even has these extraordinary bud vases that can be hung from a window, a mirror in your bathroom or any glass surface.

She is slowly, but steadily, setting up her Etsy shop.  Please check it out and support a local artist!

Stanley

Tom encouraged me to wait until the NHL Finals and someone in Detroit would surely desire this bag.

I could never sit on this one for that long, nor do I think hockey fans in Detroit read my blog, view shops on Etsy or even have the 'need' for an octopus bag.

He is done, I really enjoy this bag. He was a ton of work, but clearly worth it.

You can see more pictures here.

Last Day of School

Today. Today is the day when teachers rejoice and parents cringe.

The last day of school with a summer of "I'm bored" to come.

Hopefully the creativity of this boy will keep him busy. This was our way to wake up this boy, I love how his mind works, even if most of the time it's filled with "boy" things like guns and hurting and pounding and digging and whacking. I definitely was not ready for the boy mentality. So, so different than I was as a kid. Sweet, cute, the one that fell asleep while eating ice cream.

I'm in for a long summer.

And to celebrate (cringe), I'll be posting the Octopus bag on Etsy today. I really love the size and design of it. It took much too long, but holy octopus, batman, it's cool!

Christmas Shopping - Super Speed

I re-listed this today and like to watch it show up on the Recently Listed Items on Etsy. It speeds through all the new and renewed items.

And when I say speed...I mean speed. I suppose your connection has something to do with it and the fact that my new work computer is incredibly fast, but even if it were slower...it'd be just as much fun.

Try this link

Did you? What are you waiting for?

It's Thursday night...this is what I found:

Cool Wall graphics, no paint necessary, just peel them off when you are done.

Make your own moss terrarium ornament!

Looking for a little boy present? Check out these Space Adventure Felt Board

Dragonfly place cards that sit on the edge of a glass...so CUTE!

How about a papier mache Bee Skep? (who knew?)

Check it out for yourself and I'd like to encourage each of you to buy at least one Holiday Gift from Etsy.com this year. Support the starving artists.

Feedback

In Etsy, there is a place to receive and give feedback on your purchases. Usually it is, great customer, thanks for your order, fast shipping. But every once in a while, I get one that tugs at my creative hands and pumps me up.

I guess I am truly an artist.

this is the most amazing artist i have ever seen - i absolutely love my purses - i encourage EVERYONE to look at her shop and don't hesitate to ask carrie to create something amazing for you also.

He's UP!

Stop by and share a heart with this little monster that doesn't really care about much.

An update...He's Gone! Thanks, Jill. Due to popular demand, Squatch's sisters and brothers and cousins twice removed with which they bore children are in the works. Keep posted on the births through this blog!

Etsy Love: Geek Chic

Yesterday morning I renewed the Rosa Monster purse and got a couple views and some hearts. Then, the views jumped. Then stopped. Then jumped. I wasn't in any treasuries, so I was a bit confused.

Then I started looking in the Gift Guides. This is where Etsy Admin gathers different items into different guides based on Him, Her, Holidays, Circus, Under $20 and it goes on. I tried Her, Travel, Teens, Sculpture (a stretch, I know). I thought I tried them all until I scrolled to the bottom and saw her.

Rosa Monster and the Geeks. Rosa and her robots friends.

This is a tiny window at the upper left of the Etsy home page that changes every 5 minutes or so? Not quite sure the duration.

I am very proud of how far I have come from this time last year, especially considering I have only been crocheting for two years!

On Twitter, there are many Etsy sellers that post "woke up to a sale", which I read as "ha ha I sell things in my sleep I'm so good". But this morning, I woke up to a sale. Rosa Monster N is on her way to Annapolis MD to scare a whole bunch of people.

But, the real issue at hand is: Geek or Chic?

Banner Part Two

A new dress. (I don't wear dresses)

A new hair color. (Then I would have to keep coloring)

Rearrange the furniture. (My kids do that for me daily)

Some people do those things...I get a new Etsy banner. It was time for a change and my very talented sister in law, Lisa, whipped this up for me. You can see it much bigger and better in my shop . This is my photo of the Weaver Bird- A Blanquilt all folded up.

Lisa has an Etsy shop with a cool selection of black and white jewelry and buttons and is also a with graphic designer and many designs are available through her Image Factory. This multi-talented full time working mom of one uber cute little guy also has a blog, (maybe this will entice her to update it winkwink).

She is super cool and extremely talented. Thanks, Lisa...for all you do for me!
Pretty Posie Buttons from gWhizStudio, available right here...tell her Carrie sent you!

Blue, Gray, White Stripes. Great for: Dinner time; Pack one in your child's lunch; Keep one in the car for those emergency spills; Take it with you to the gym, to wipe your face while working out; Keep one handy by your favorite chair where you rock your little one. You never know when you may need a burp cloth.-Also great for cleaning use.

I think it is time to tell you about my new friend.

Her name is Karen.

Karen didn't win the Giveaway we had a couple weeks ago.

Since Karen's story of Betsy is now in my shop, I wanted to share with her, something from me. My kind of thank you - stuff. In fact, I tried to send her something and she said, "no thank you".

I believe in the idea that if you do something good for someone, and you will get something good in return. Big Boy actually said that to Little Man a couple days ago - I couldn't have been more proud.

Please, take a couple minutes to check out Karen's shop here and her blog right here. You won't be disappointed.

Although I talk about ETSY.COM in almost every single post, I want to remind you all that even if you don't buy from me or Karen, please support Etsy. As you look at your gift lists, take 20 minutes to browse through Etsy. The items are unique and affordable. They will often come wrapped for free, sellers will send directly to your recipient if you ask, artists will do about anything to get your business. You will even get a hand written note of thanks...and you won't waste a drop of gasoline.
