91/366: Micro March

Picasa added some fancy filters to their basic edit capabilities. I wanted to try something so uninteresting.  A calculator.  And make is somewhat interesting.

Not sure it worked, but it's okay.  I tried to come up with something to relate to the 4.  Four peeps in my little family.  Four chances to win the Mega Millions.

Four losses on winning the mega millions...

85/366: Micro March

This is a pricker weed, covered in dew.  This is the first and perhaps last time I look at this weed with a touch of fondness.

He'll be gone soon, as soon as I have my garden gloves on!

82/366: Micro March

The mini daffodil proved to be harder than I thought.  In hindsight, turning off my auto focus would have been the best idea, one I discounted as I was precariously balancing my body and camera at a bizarre angle to capture these little lovelies.

Now I know, for next Spring.  I mean Winter.  These bloomed last week, along with many other pretty goodness, about a month early.  This weather is something for the record books.  We are in our second day of record high temps ever for this area.  Today, we will most likely make it to 3 days in a row at 80 degrees.  Never in my life have I known a Spring so early that it came in Winter.  Next week we drop 30 degrees, but that's okay, I am not ready for Summer just yet.

Neither are my pasty white legs.

81/366: Micro March

Every person needs a Lady's Mantel in their garden.  It is the quiet showstopper.  A little dew or light rainfall and this is pure delight.

It's an easy shade plant, that offers a wispy chartreuse flower that looks great with other cut flowers.

80/366: Micro Eeeek March

This lens is great.  I was a good three feet away.  Too nervous to get too close.  I know, harmless, but I didn't want to loose him in the baseboard heater.

I definitely need more courage to get those bugs.

Today, I saw a bumblebee.  I think he was a very confused bumble.  It's March.  In Buffalo.  Perhaps all the nasty bugs and mosquitos will come out early and then be killed by the late frost???  Here's hoping.

79/366: Micro March

Still working on the blanket for Big Boy.  I love making the squares, they are quick and colorful.

75/366: Micro March

Again, the Burning Bush.  This is from my other bush, that is more of a tree.

74/366: Micro March

Come on little guy...go for it!

I love seeing this hyacinth that was given to me by my neighbor.  Sharing the bounty of my plants is my favorite part of gardening.

Favorite plant to share:  Hosta
Least favorite plant to share:  Siberian Iris (those suckers are bound together like the inside of a baseball).

73/366: Micro March

Ice melting on the pond that never really froze over this winter.  I saw the fish swimming around every month since I closed up the pond in October.

This net has kept many of the leaves from falling into the pond.  I'm hoping for a clean spring!

72/366: Micro March

My favorite Burning Bush.  It brings many seasons of interest as a home for birds and the fiery display in the fall.

70/366: Micro March

Waxy cold on the frozen Rhododendron.

I love the evergreen nature of this plant.

69/366: Micro March

This little March project has really shown me how the everyday objects and surroundings can be so interesting if you get real close and just look.

Even the messiness of previous owners can be beautiful.

68/366: Micro March

They are popping up, nearly 6 inches out of the ground my mini daffodils are ready to celebrate the coming of spring.

This is the sign that turns my thumbs green and my heart anxious for all the planning and planting of the new season.

I love this time of year.

62/366: {this moment}

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.
